  1. Caution is a legal term for a warning given
  2. by police questioning a suspect, which until
  3. recently in the UK had to be couched in the 
  4. following terms: "You do not have to say 
  5. anything unless you wish to do so, but what 
  6. you do say may be given in evidence." Persons
  7. not under arrest must also be told that they
  8. do not have to remain at the police station
  9. or with the police officer but that if they
  10. do, they may obtain legal advice if they 
  11. wish. A suspect should be cautioned again 
  12. after a break in questioning and upon arrest.
